Appearance[]
Oswald is a short and round Caucasian individual with a primarily purple outfit, as seen by his fluffy overcoat decorated with white wool, his deep purple vest, and the pants that match his coat. He has a white button up shirt and black tie. Atop his head is a black top hat with a purple stripe. His body is slightly deformed, with his fingers merged and nose pointed downward, giving the appearance of a real penguin's flippers and beak. he has blonde hair, with his eyebrows being quite large, and blue eyes. His right eye has a monocle.
Personality[]
Oswald is a proud owner of his establishment, the Iceberg Lounge, which has been used on several occasions to house Gotham's most notorious criminals, especially since the death of Batman. Oswald values money above all, even going so far as to work with heroes such as The Question if given the right payment.
Although intelligent, Oswald is not particularly well-spoken, using words improperly, and constantly utilizing "you's" instead of "you" when referring to someone, and often leaves off the ending "g" of verbs. He also has some low standards regarding his manners and general hygiene, as he plucked a piece of fish from his teeth with a toothpick only to nonchalantly eat it again right after.
Oswald seems to have slight paranoia, as he insisted there was nothing for the Question to arrest him for, despite the Question not even bringing up the idea of arresting him at all, and also demanded that the Question leave his name out of his mouth should anyone ask where his information came from, displaying a fear of Lex Luthor in particular.
History[]
In Case 1: Oswald Cobblepot, Oswald was shocked by the sudden presence of the Question in his quarters within the Iceberg Lounge, and was initially hostile. Once the Question showed him the money, Oswald was more than willing to cooperate with giving out information, particularly in regards to the deaths of the Big Three, which the Question was investigating. He informed the Question that rumors were abound of LexCorp putting funding into researching Zod's ship, but insisted that his name be left alone to prevent beef with Lex Luthor, something which Question agreed to.
Powers[]
- Oswald is a mechanical genius, having devised several trick umbrellas, as well as his iconic exploding penguins.
- Oswald's brilliance also extends to his business tactics, as despite being in the criminal underworld, he is a shrewd businessman, putting him in the lawful evil category as he ensures to abide by the laws of the crime world, even if they don't align with the true laws.
Weaknesses[]
- Oswald has no superhuman abilities, and can be outclassed by heroes who do.
- Additionally, Oswald's physicality doesn't make him great for physical combat, as he is not particularly strong, and waddles when trying to run.
Appearances[]
- Case 1: Oswald Cobblepot (debut)
Trivia[]

- Oswald's blonde hair, and subsequently his large eyebrows, are meant to allude to macaroni penguins.
